Acronis9-Restoring the MBR.

    Hi gang,
    When restoring, the MBR can be checked off to be restored.
    Can you tell me when it's to be restored and when it's not to be restored?

    If you want the computer to be able to boot up after the restore, then the MBR needs to be included. If all you want to do is restore a partition that doesn't include the OS you won't need the MBR.

    Hi Tom,
    Does it mean,in other words, that the MBR is to be ignored if one is restoring a certain number of files instead of restoring the whole HD?
