    Hi to all,

first plse excuse my terrible english but I have a problem and need help.

I am using True Image Workstation 9.1 (German) on a Windows 2000 professional based PC.

If I try to make a bootable rescue CD the work begins and the LED on the
    CD Writer begins to burn.
On the TI Screen i have the message "still at progress". After about 10 minutes
i hear a "bing" and my Windows tells me that I have removed my CD Writer. After clicking "OK" TI gives me following error message "Error on writing File
    (0x40003).

The CD Writer is no more visible in Windows Hardware Environment.

I am using the tool "virtual cd",too. These virtual cds are always visible
    in Windows Hardware Environment.

    What can I do?

    Regards

    VM1016

    Hi, The Quest,

    thank you very much.

I tried several CD´s. After a reboot i can see the Cd Writer on Bios Screen and on Windows Hardware Environment. With NERO the CD Writer works fine.
It seems that TI is "killing" the connection between Windows and the CD Writer so thats why Windows tells me I had removed a hardware component while it was running...

    Regards

    Hello Vm1016,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Workstation Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

First of all, please make sure you use the latest build, which is available on our web site at. To get access to updates you should first register Acronis software.

Please create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Please also create CD Record log file as follows:
    - Run regedit from Start -> Run
    - Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\DebugLogs registry key
If this is the first time when this log is being issued, then the folder DebugLogs has to be created first
    - Add cdrecord value (Type: DWORD; Data: 1)
    - Reproduce the problem

The cdrecord.log will be created in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\DebugLogs folder.

Please submit a request for technical support. Provide the files and information collected in your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

We can also suggest you the following workaround:
    - Please create the ISO image of Acronis Bootable Media with Acronis Bootable Media Creator
    - Then, please burn this image to CD using your burning software (e.g. Nero)

We are always at your service should you have any further questions.

    Thank you.

    Hi Vm1016,

just had TI 10 Home burn an emergency CD on my W2k (latest updates loaded), and VirtualCD V7 running without any problem.

    So that should work.

Which version of VCD are you working with? I remember having all kinds of strange problems with V3.

    Good luck, Rolf
