    I just installed acronis true image 2009 (12.0.0.9709) on windows XP.

    I want to back on My Documents and Desktop and I want to make it a .zip file and not a .tib.

    When I make a .tib it works fine, however, when I make a .zip I get this error about 20 seconds in:

    "Acronis true image has encountered a problem and needs to close"

    Any help is appreciated.

    Can't really say but:
    Did you reboot after installing? If not, try a reboot; I have had various problems fixed this way after doing an install.

    Run chkdsk C: /r (reboot likely required to run the test). This is the usual first thing to try when there is a strange problem but I must admit the fact it does the tib OK reduces the liklihood disk issues are the cause.

    I scanned my c: drive and my external hard drive with scan disk. It didn't report any problems and yes I have restarted and reinstalled but the same thing happens.

    I am starting to think this software is a lemon.

    Hello x35,

    Thank you for using Acronis True Image Home 2009

    In order to investigate the issue please provide us the following diagnostic information:

    - Press the Start button, choose Run, type "drwtsn32" and hit Enter;
    - In the dialog that appears check the "Log File" and "Crash Dump" paths, then click the OK button;
    - Reproduce the problem;
    - Pick up the user.dmp and drwtsn32.log files in the directory specified at step 2 and send them to us, attach to your next reply.

    Best regards,
