it started after i had to do repair installation. now when i run Acronis True Image 8.0 it says " E000101F4, Acronis True Image has not found any hard disk drives" . the program runs ok from the Boot (the startup recovery or whatever its called) , no error and the backup image created is intact, but cant run the program from windows XP PRo SP-2.

    Can somebody help please?

When you say "repair installation" I'm assuming you meant TI not Windows itself. In which case it's possible that something has gone wrong, either with the snapman.sys driver or some other Acronis service/driver.

Either way, I recommend a full manual uninstall as per this <recent post by Acronis Support> followed by clean reinstall. That will ensure eveything is loaded back into the right place again including the Windows Registry entries. Usual precaution about backing up your registry first applies ;)

    Regards

When I got my new computer, I had the same problem. Fixed it by installing the latest version (796) of TI 8.

    Hello ke3pup,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

If the reinstallation proposed by Menorcaman doesn't help please install the below update with disabled logging and see whether the problem persists.

    http://www.acronis.com/files/support/SnapAPI_s_e.exe

If the problem does persist, please enable logging by running the update once more, reproduce the program failure and send the c:\snapapi.log file to support@acronis.com along with Acronis Report and link to this thread (please see https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317 for the instruction for how to get the report).

    Thank you.
