    Alexey,

Can you confirm if a detailed change log will be released (as promised)?

    FYI:
It appears that the BartPE and Safe Mode plugins have been revised also.

The Acronis web site recommends an install / repair approach and to load over the existing version whereas one of the threads in the stickies notes that it is best to delete the old version and then load up this new version.

    Is there a preferred approach?

    Regards

Well, not necessarily. I logged on to my account, went to the Updates section, where I was told that I could not download the update to TI 11 until I registered the product, something that I had previously done.

So, I then went to the Registration part of the site, where I entered my TI 11 registration number. Not surprisingly, given that I had already registered the product, the system told me that it was already registered.

So, by Acronis "logic", that which I have registered cannot be updated because it has not yet been registered, but that which I have already registered is, in fact, registered, but, as I have not yet registered that which I have registered, I cannot download the update to my registered product because, although the product is registered, I need to register it, which I cannont do as it is already registered.

Somehow, this circularity does not register with me, and I would appreciate your squaring this circle so that I might update the registered product which needs to be registered but which cannot be registered as it is registered.

Nemo me impune lacessit - No one provokes me with impunity. (motto of the Kings of Scotland)

Opinions will vary but my choice is to always uninstall a previous version if you are installing a later full version. I did that this afternoon and all went well installing TI-11, build 8053. If you also have the BartPe and SafeMedia plugins you should also uninstall them before installing the latest build in that my observation suggests that they have changed also. This is hard to know but I noticed that the file sizes of these plugins is slightly larger than the previous files.

In addition to the uninstall from Add or Remove Programs I deleted the residual Acronis folders that remained as well as deleted a couple of entries in the WinXP, SP2 Registry.

    Good luck,
    Bruce

    EDIT:
Having installed TI-11, build 8053 but with limited experience with it yet, it does seem to be an improvement over build 8027. It appears to be a bit slower creating an image in Windows but this is only an initial observation and if true I don’t have an issue with that.

A better test will come in a couple of days when I have seen if scheduled tasks actually run and if e-mail notifications actually work. They did not with build 8027.

The progress bar when creating an image in Windows did not display properly. While this is a cosmetic thing it didn’t reflect in a positive manner for build 8027.

Of greater concern was the observation that build 8027 somehow might have created a conflict with the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the System Tray. There was some speculation that this might have been caused by the latest Windows updates from Microsoft. For my system I ruled that out by restoring images before and after that point in time. Other users had different thoughts as to whether or not True Image 11 was a factor and I respect their observations. I will however be watching for this in this build.

Not being pleased with the things observed in build 8027 I went back to TI-10 which has worked very well on my system. To humor myself I thought I would try out this new build. If it does work out it will help in making recommendations to others. I would not recommend build 8027 to anyone.

This new build (8053) has fixed the issue for my setup (ICH5R). I just did a backup and restore using the boot media. It is slower than TI10 on those drives but at least it works. :)

The history of changes is just a blank page at the moment. Indeed it now does not now even have a link to download the original version.

I for one will not be wasting my time downloading and trialing a "pig-in-a-poke" without first being able to review the promised change log.

Haven't had chance to try 11.8053 on my RAID machine but this is how it went uninstallilng 10. I ran the remove program from the control panel app.

Left behind were all the files and all the registry entries (or several hundred of them anyway) although the installer removed ATI10 from the list of programs.

Seems the best way to uninstall is to stop the Acronis services and processes first -- or disable them with msconfig and reboot to get a clean uninstall.

I removed the directories and reg entries by hand, then rebooted and installed 11.8053.

Incredibly, I can confirm that this is NOT working again on my P965 Express as well...Incredible because they sent me a build 8052 ISO that seemed to work fine. o_O

I guess I'll hang on to that ISO for a while.

DerPriester, if you go through support and specifically ask for the 8052 it should work for you. I have an Asus P5B-E.

My TI 11 build 8,053 actually shows 8,054 in the Full and Safe Mode versions.

It does see my RAID 0 drive on my ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi computer (P965/JMicron chipset). I do have two other non-RAID drives connected, though, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. The RAID drive shows up as Disk 3. When I run the Safe Mode version the RAID drive shows up as Disk 1.

I tried 11.8053 on my machine with the Intel RAID, when I went to select the disk onto which to restore an image, the RAID was missing. :-(

    Hello all,

Will try to address all the important questions below.
We are truly sorry for the current inconvenience. Yes, we will add the change log to the Updates section of our official web site in the nearest future.
The update for the German version is not officially available yet. Our Development Team is working on it and it is planned to be released in the nearest future. For now we may recommend you to log into your account at http://www.acronis.de/homecomputing/my/ , go to Abonnements at the left and checkmark the following two items: 'Informieren Sie mich über wichtige Updates für meine registrierten Produkte' and 'Informieren Sie mich über Upgrades für meine registrierten Produkte' to be up on Acronis True Image 11 Home updates.
John, if you still experience the issue with downloading the latest build of the product please submit a request for technical support with the subject indicating that you want to contact Alex Bogomolov. Please provide the link to this thread. We will definitely find out the reason from the issue and provide you with the latest update.

As for the RAID detection issues

In case you experience such problems with Acronis True Image 11 Home 8053 bootable media, please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo26.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Then submit an official support request via this web form with the subject indicating that you want to contact Alex Bogomolov. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and will definitely provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,
    Alexey Bogomolov

Round and around and around we go again.

It is clear that T 11 has major problems and is broken. To release a so called update that does not fix much and to ask us all to supply information so you can produce another update eh? We are not your beta testers.

I want the product promised to me by you Acronis via your website to do the job it sez it can. You took my money and did not deliver. Bad business practice, some would call it robbery.

Well, as it happens, I logged on again the next day, which took me to a different place to download, where I was able to get the file.

That was followed, a day later, by one of my incredibly lengthy message exchanges with tech support about serious problems with TI 11, asking me to download the file, remove TI, reboot, reinstall, run sechedmgr yet again, although with some different inputs, recreate tasks.

It is nice to have something to do....

I now have three consecutive full-disk full/differential backups, the first time that has happened since the first release of v. 11, plus two data-only backups (the third is not due until this afternoon.)

Now to wait, to see if the two sets of backups continue to work and, when they reach their set limits, they start new sets, things that most certainly did not happen with the first release.

I was happy with version 10 build 4942.
I trialed version 11 and now I get the message "Unable to create volume snapshot (0x70021) no space available".
How can I get a no space available, since my HD has 230 GB of free space?
So I uninstalled version 11 and reinstall version 10 again.(Cleaned Windows registry, folders, etc)
Now I have the same message and I can't create backups anymore.
And I won't go to format my HD to restore this error.
Too bad everytime a new version comes out, we have to deal with this kind of situation.

    Hello

Are we supposed to run the bootable rescue media builder every time we install a new build of ATI 11?

I know there are still issues with the snapman.sys driver. For me they are causeing BSOD's and the only two other programs I have installed on this fresly formated computer are Firefox & thunderbird and so their should be no other conflicts.
I DO have a support ticket open and support is very quick to get back to me.
I hope you are all sending in your mindumps after crashes.

I don't know if this is a ATI 11 problem or I need an updated driver but I never had any problem dismounting my USB stick before reinstalling Windows.
Now I get a error every time and it doesn't creat a kernel or memory dump. Windows did however create a user dump file which points to a DLL using Windbg.
