    Are you using the English version of Echo or a German one?

    What MS OS are you using?

    Is this from Windows that the tape drive disappears or from the rescue CD?

    If you've installed the management console, does it make any difference scheduling via this?

    It sounds like a Echo is not able to see the tape driver.

    Hello unixvsnt,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Server Disk Backup Software.

    Please make sure you have the latest drivers for the tape device installed.

    If the issue persists, please collect some information to let us investigate it thoroughly:

    - Please download this archive;
    - Unpack the archive to C:\ ;
    - Start the command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);
    - Run the following command:

    c:\tapes.exe > c:\tapes.txt

    Please also create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.

    Install the Backup Server. After you install the Backup Server you should see the tape option when you schedule a backup.

    Hello unixvsnt,

    Normally, the tapes would be formatted automatically after user confirmation (unless disabled in options).
    Please follow further instructions in my previous post, create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post, and then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
