Acronis Support Pls help. Cant Burn to DVD's !!!!

    I have read the instructions & followed them on how to burn to DVD.

    If I run a backup it burns fine to CD. If I install a DVD it runs thru the paces & says that it completed successfully but the DVD is BLANK. I have tried 4.7/8.5/+r/-r & even some RW's. No diff. Sometimes I get an error saying the disc needs to be formatted & when I hit the format button it can't access teh drive cause it's busy?

    Pls help I need the xtra capacit of the dvd's.

    Hello Selkov,

    Are you using the "direct" method or the alternative "two-step" method? If it's the direct method and you are using InCD as the third-party packet writer then you can only use DVD+/-RW disks. Also, under the InCD format "Options", ensure you tick the "Enable the advanced format options" checkbox, after which you can then click the "Advanced" button. Under the "Advanced format options", make sure the UDF file system you select for preformatting the DVDs is no higher than UDF 2.1 (I use the UDF 1.5 (recommended) setting).

    You say you have read the instructions but have you seen the additional advice in Posts #3 and #5 of this previous thread titled <Why can't I burn my backup to DVD+R?>.

    I am trying to use the direct method.
    Have already done all that you suggested.
    Accoeding to Acronis I CAN use DVD +/-r or DVD +/-rw, even Dual layer.
    But I can not get any of them to work.

    In case you have the appropriate UDF packet DVD writing software installed and all of your DVDs are properly formatted according to the this FAQ article, but you still can not write your images to DVD, please collect the following information:

    - Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Reproduce the problem and collect Acronis True Image 9.0 log which can be saved from Tools -> Show Log -> Diskette icon;

    - Have you received any error messages? What exact error messages? When exactly you received them?

    - Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.
    Submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the information about your purchase of Acronis software (order number, e-mail, where did you purchase our product, etc.) and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.
