    Hey,
my scheduled backups in the secure zone are not running any longer, because acronis told me that there is no place left in the secure zone. i thought, secure zone admin his place by itself? how can i delete old backups from there? there is unfortunatally no place left on my disk to expand the secure zone.

Although it is counter intuitive create a new base image. The zone will accept it and delete to old base image.
You should always aim to have two or more full base images in the zone and the FIFO management will then work.

If you have only one full image in the SZ, then all incs/diffs are trying to write based on that full. For some reason, ATI will not delete that full in that situation even though the deletion occurs after the new backup is created. Such is the design. So you need to have at least one additional full in the SZ, one that is not being used as the basis for the current creation of an inc/diff, for the SZ to be able to delete a full and make more room available.

    Hello jfischer,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please notice that Acronis Secure Zone operates on following rules:

    • If there is not enough free space in the zone to create a backup, the program deletes the oldest full backup with all subsequent incremental/differential backups.
    • If there is only one full backup (with subsequent incremental/differential backups) left and a full backup is in progress, then the old full backup and incremental/differential backups are deleted.
    • Otherwise, (only one full backup left, and an incremental/differential backup is in progress) you will get a message about space error. In that case you will have to either re-create the full backup or increase Acronis Secure Zone.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
