I just saw that a minute ago on another site. If it's anything like their current backup software I'll pass.

It looks like we have yet another vendor licensing Bitdefender technology. Acronis is also charging $10 more per year for the AV & IS, but they are charging $10 less for the backup & security version.

Another company that is not having a great year. I'll still pass. Acronis should make a great product before releasing a bunch of mediocre ones.

It's all about the core business, if they would just realize that !

About every new AV (perhaps even rogues) uses the Bitdefender engine. What's the point of all those Bitdefender clones ?

I think I'll release a new product next week.
I was thinking of calling it Suite Hugger Security.
If they can do it so can I.

I'll just use a little from each of the major players and then I guess I'll borrow an icon or two.

Haha, that acronis app looks just like a rogue that was installed on my buddies computer. Hostageware at its finest!

BD might be providing Engine at very low rates that is why we are seeing so many clones of BD:D

The GUI looks like it was hastily made. Its color scheme and look remind me of roguewares.

Offtopic: It seems some forum members don't like Acronis True Image 2010. What is wrong with it? I haven't tested it myself

I tried BDIS 2010 and even by setting the heuristic to default level it detected almost while scanning and some others while on execution. And in terms of removal part hidden malwares are always quite hard to remove but still I really liked how BD worked but not in terms of performances ofcourse:cautious:

Was gonna update to 2010 myself a few weeks back. Currently using TI9 (I think) which I bought 3 years ago. Various forums including their own are so full of bugs and issues that I decided to keep my money in my pocket and stick with my old version. Can't remember specific but have a look yourself and you'll soon get the picture. Norton Ghost seems to be picking up a lot of TI users.

This. They were causing a lot of problems with their filter driver for the Try & Decide feature, which I and many others have no interest in to begin with. They were slow to respond on the subject, probably because they were working on this security suite. Ghost 15 didn't work for me on Windows 7 64 bit either, so I had to go with O&O DiskImage, the only product I tested that didn't fail me. As for an Acronis security solution, hahahahaha that was funny, them thinking they could make a good one. :D
