I downloaded the testversion of acronis true image. When I start Acronis it says that it failed to read sector ? ? ? ? ? on drive 4.(I used the German version. It's maybe not the correct English translation of the German message)
When I click on ignore the message comes up again and again. Just 'ignore all' does help.

Does that mean that I should worry about my hard drive?

    Quite possibly.

From a command line run chkdsk /r x: (x being your drive letter of course).

Chkdsk found a bit more than 14000 bad sectors which were added to the file of the bad sectors.
There was a bad volume, too(I hope It was deleted. I don't know why I had this not readable volume. It is a 200GB HD with a 200GB Volume. It is obvious that the additional 12GB volume is not readable, but why did it exist ??)

That doesn't sound too good, but on Win95 Scandisk found errors all day and the disk never failed for more than 6 years.

How does it sound to you? The harddisk is ok, isn't it?(I run WindowsXP)
