Acronis does poor job - restore / partions options !

This is very disappointing.

 

I do not really agree to your concern. It clears states option 1 as a "Disk" restore - where multiple partitions may be involved, if you just want to restore a partition without the original disk "container", option 2 would be appropriate.

You may know TI better than I, but nowhere nowhere does it explain anything in the manual about what little "box" to click and what the difference is, it just isn't clear, and that's what I am talking about. For a newbie using the program, it's not clear, and they should improve this. Try doing a restore for fun and click the upper box, and then only the bottom box,
nowhere is there text that appears letting you know what the differences are, - you have to agree on that anyway
