Acquiring Network Address failure with ESS

    I am using ESS 3.0.566.0 on a Win XP Pro laptop. I have a D-link wireless router (G640T) and I am using Open DNS.
    Every time I start the computer from standby mode there is a failure of LAN connectivity. The LAN status is 'acquiring network address' and then it times out.
    If I reboot my connectivity is restored.
    ESS Firewall is in the filtering mode (automatic mode gave the same problem).
    I have had no problems with various other security suites on my FDISR snapshots.
    Can someone give me an idea as to where the problem might be?
