    I truly have no clue why anyone would upload sensitive stuff to some random site, in order to OCR it.

    I mean, we've had OCR software for decades. Just do it locally.

    You say that... but the boss is not always of that mindset. If you don't have OCR software AND a scanner and the boss wants it done now and didn't ask your opinion because he just wanted it done.,.. you get the idea.

    I guess. But then the boss is stupid. Stupid for not seeing the risks, and stupid for not having (or listening to) competent staff.
