A heads-up for MSN users

    If you are or know a MSN subscriber, beware of (please tell them) any popups that request a credit card validation/update upon login. "Paul" at MSN customer service verified to me that the source is not MSN ("no, that wouldn't be us"). There is a hijack which places entries in the HOSTS file to redirect to a server in Germany owned by a company called Strato Medien AG.

    The trojan "MSNJACK" is spreading rapidly. Detection reports started coming into our email from Europe yesterday and the trojan is now making inroads into the US. BOClean does detect it, it's not a false alarm. Many others will likely follow suit.

    Another release of note. The Intradaily Update for BOClean - FILEDATE: 09/19/05 - 16:46:27 (US EDT) (20:46:27 GMT/UTC) includes a new Bagel version. Felt it was significant to mention seeing how those get around.
