    Well dear people of Wilders,

With what all Horror(s) is going on in the world on a daily basis - and especially too, the recent natural disaster...I'd like to remember also our 'kindred spirits'.
Our animals in the world - our pets.

I see many, many poor dogs & cats running around seemingly without a goal.
Whether it is Summer , Fall or Winter. I see dogs chained up so short...outside in the freezing cold..no human in sight. I could go on and on.

I kept 2 poems especially dedicated to our beloved pets - to the ones that are left behind, thrown away like a bag of trash. Everytime I read them...I get filled with anger and sadness all at ones. Because - it is so True.

    ~ A Dog Sits Waiting~

A dog sits waiting in the cold autumn sun.
    Too faithful to leave,
    too frightened to run.

He's been here for days now
    with nothing to do.
    But sits by the road,
    waiting for you.

He can't understand why you left him that day.
    He thought you and he
    were stopping to play.

    He's sure you'll come back,
    and that's why he stays.
How long will he suffer ?
    How many more days ?

    His legs have grown weak,
    his throat's parched and dry.
    He's Sick now from hunger
    and falls with a sigh.
    He lays down his head
    and closes his eyes.

    I wish YOU could see
    how a waiting dog dies.

A very touching poem. May we never forget the poor stray animals out there, anywhere.

    ~Prayer For A Stray~

    Dear God, please send somebody
    who will care.
    I'm tired of running,
    I'm sick of with despair.

    My body is aching.
    It's so racked with pain.
    And dear God, I pray
as I run in the rain,
    that somebody will Love me
    and give me a home.
    A warm cozy bed
    and big juicy bone.

My last owner tied me all day
    in the yard.
    Sometimes with no water,
    and God, that was hard.

So I chewed my leash, God,
    and I ran away.
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.

    But now, God, I'm tired
    and hungry and cold,
and I'm so afraid I'll never grow old.

Thanks for that Nat......cheered me up no end......Remember....a dog isn't just for Christmas, with a bit of planning there'll be some left over for New Year......(Old Chinese proverb).... :D :D

    POEM...

    The Old Man sat rocking,
    His dog at his feet,
    No fire in the grate,
    And nothing to eat,
    He patted the dog,
    On it's trembling coat,
    And in a dry whisper,said,
    We're in the same boat,
    The old dog looked up,
and thought "In the same boat,"
Then said "You might be Matey,"
    Then Ripped out his throat,
The dog married the dog next door, (Who was quite well off) and went to live in Liverpool and lived happily ever after.....The End.... :D

Hmmm... Am I correct to assume you're the type of person to find humor at the darkest hours, Cochise ?

I wouldn't trust him with my "baby" either !
I don't care if its a chinese age-old proverb or not - but it is definately the Truth. They eat the poor Souls there........ *shiver*

I hear it it comming:..."Well you eat cows, pigs, snakes and bunnies".....

But...DOGS & CATS are like us...feel like us. If I ate them I'll might as well be a cannibal <sp>
If I could help it, I wouldn't eat ANY animal....But thats another story....:)

Come on Nat.....tell the truth....I bet you had a little smile playing round your lips at my little Poem I made up.........The way I see it, if you take a dreadful sadness to your Heart and forget to take a little smile with it to compensate, then a little bit of your Heart will die and what's even worse, it will never recover......a smiling Heart is a happy Heart that will take on anything...... :D

    You are so right Rita.
All I usually can do if and when I see some animal being abused, is Report it !
    Imediately.
I'd sometimes like to get a gun and (sorry for saying), shoot that bastard that's guilty right in the middle where it hurts !

Getting fairly close to the line here, and frankly getting rather tired in guarding this Ten-Forward. No more 'between the lines' insinuations please. And that's not a merely a friendly advice - for all involved.

    regards,

    paul

    Dear Paul,

This Thread was not intended to become somewhat ambiguous/suggestive, as some of you may perceive it. If in your opinion it has gotten close toThe line -
opologies. This is a thread about Animals - pets. And even the word "animal" could be "read" the way it wants to be read by some. This is taught by society - MISusing certain words, that are in truth absolutely harmless and used as nicks - names, etc all over.
Yes, I realize these words can be "read" falsely, but that isn't my problem or concern.
I try always to be respectful and not go too far with the language here.
People too easily get offended, that is a fact. But instead of reading in between the lines the bad and naughty - perhaps they'll read the no pun intended Humor that was really meant.

With all respect to you boss, I stand to my point that the words used are nothing more as I have tried to Explain above.

I hope my somewhat shady english can make you understand, how and what I mean.

And I find it sad to read that you are tired of guarding this thread.
Well Paul....it is of course your choice to continiue.

Hope all you can read the humor Between the lines and not take all and every little thing so harshly.

    With respect,

    ~Nat~
