I got a file in format 7z (file name kmel.7z), which appears to be some kind of compression scheme. Does anyone know what this is? Better yet, does anyone know what program I need in order to uncompress a 7z file?

You can use WinRAR to unpack 7z as well. :)

It is not free, but PowerArchiver is really good. Have been using it for years and really like it.

If you use the last version of WinRAR, you can open that file...
