How does DW compare to AppGuard. IIRC, AG has a 3 PC offer for $25. Can DW only be run on one box at a time? Since this isn't sig based, is the one year update policy, just for new versions of the program? If we choose not to renew, we'll still have protection, correct?

    Thanks,

    NN

that is one great deal for one of the best security software around, imo.

last try for HIPS was with OS=XP and had some issues.
But thats not my point here - yesterday i had a look at the firewall
and its features seems really poor to me. i'm also missing the option
for "trusted and allowed" - all i saw was "untrusted and..."
or can any trusted program (hips part) have unlimited access to the web? o_O

    the auction price is fair

There is only one feature there- "do not allow malware to infect the computer or steal sensitive information". And don't forget, that DW is made for an average users, with no or very minimal technical knowledge. "Every new button decrease your sales", remember? I do!

You just definitely don't understand how DefenseWall is working and really missing the terminology. I strongly recommend you to forget everything you even knew about classical personal firewalls (DefenseWall is a sandbox one) and read online help file very carefully. There is no need to allow anything for trusted processes.

ok, "average user" - i have read the help file...

but i am still missing the information if trusted programs have web access by default or not.

(due sandboxie there is only limited action possible - no driver)

    sorry for inconvenience ...

Ilya I, like many others, recommend your product because of its effectiveness and great customer support, so don't take this wrong, but...there is a bit of a conflict in the term "firewall" of DW and the product being made for an average user. What does an average user think when they see the word "firewall"? It is a bit confusing, I think when the word firewall is not supposed to mean the average user's definition of firewall. Personally I believe a new name would be better and less confusing for the average user. Just my 2 cents worth.

And how could I explain what exactly do I selling? I'm not Symantec to create and push new brand name to the market, I have to adopt the things I'm doing to the current reality and already existing terms.

DW is fundamentally an install-it-and-forget-it securityapp than can safely be used on the computers of folks who are too lazy (or too inept) to configure or update security apps. Even in the hands of high risk surfers who are totally indifferent to security, DW is as close to being "bullet-proof" as any security app that I know of.

If (like me) you are a tweak freak, then DW is probably not for you.

If (like me) you enjoy trying every "flavor of the week" security app, then DW is probably not for you.

ON THE OTHER HAND --- If you are one of those strange persons who simply want a worry-free computer so that they can relax & concentrate on production or gaming or surfing, then DW most certainly merits your consideration.
