My DVD writer is not recognized when I want to backup direct to DVD(+R)
There is a blank DVD in the drive.

I deactivated inCD5. Do I need to uninstall Nero 7completely?

That is not a good tradeoff for me, since I do disk copying, etc.

Are there instructions on what has to be done to use direct to DVD with Acronis True Image 9 build 3633?

According to another report, True Image is recognizing the drives as a CD drive. Is this what happens in your case? If so, try to procede with the dvd media inserted.

    Chutsman,

Since you're (correctly) concerned about English punctuation, it's 'proceed', not 'procede'!

I'll allow you the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was a typographical error on your part! (Or is this a North American variant, I wonder? e.g. color vs. colour)

You don't have to uninstall Nero.

    Hello Bob Fritts,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Could you please clarify whether your DVD writer is not recognized within Windows or in rescue mode?

What is the exact model of your DVD writer?

    Please describe your actions step-by-step.

Please note that this is a normal situation when a DVD writer is shown as a CD burner in Acronis True Image.
This doesn't affect the device's functionality and you can use DVD.

    Thank you.
