You are not gonna believe this..... Windows Firewall Control, http://www.binisoft.org/wfc.php
That is, until TS gets firewall integrated, which could use windows firewall OR have it's own....
If you're wondering about network monitoring what I use, System Explorer...

Nah, just tired of "everyone's out to get me" thing....
Do I need to feel safe? I've got the government to do that for me :)

    Restricting freedom =/= safety...

Question. Are the "network optimization" changes 360 TS makes safe and/or effective?

Used them, for me they work, no problems. Do system restore checkpoint, then try it out, can't hurt...

    Gak, sorry.....I'm new to TS....
Will it auto-update soon or do I have to manually DL and install over existing version?

    TIA.

You could wait a couple of days and it will prompt you to overwrite existing installation, or you could safely download and run the install which will prompt you to overwrite. Either way is good... I personally go ahead and download it as son as it is on site released. Usually it does not need to restart and install is less than a minute...

    Hi

Since IS probably will be replaced with TS i thought it was time to take the jump when the final version of TS came out some week ago but - i experienced the old problem of action center saying that the Av is off - over and over again .
Uninstalled of course and back to IS . Anyone else experienced that and is there a workaround for it ?

Maybe this latest version functions better - going to test it out later .

Known problem, it is being worked on. It's not just you.
To put ease to mind, the TS is working realtime, so no worries there.
For me, even the latest version is affected.

After version 5.0.0.1996 update in Firefox, the extension is the 5.0.0.1001 but the plugin is 5.0.0.1003.
    Is OK or what?
    Thanks.

360 still turns on Windows Update. That's not playing nice. No software should ever execute administrative actions such as this without permission. This is something that you would expect malicious programs do, but not an Antivirus.

Actually, this is what an antivirus SHOULD do when people forget to do Windows Update at all.
I do actually more windows update via 360 than native windows WU.
If you don't want it, then:
Toolbox>Patch Up>Advanced Settings>Turn off the poput notice and do not patch, and to completely disable, also check Turn off Windows Update.
I do not recommend not patching Windows, because it is the right thing to do. Why? Because it is.

I know how to turn off the Patchup feature. What's disturbing is turning Windows Update back on should be an "Opt out" instead of "Opt in" feature by default. This is an administrative function, not one to be changed by some software without asking permission first.

I also find the "WiFi Password Strength" check annoying, and wish I could turn it off. I use no password because I live far out in the country, and nobody can get within a mile of my WiFi except the laptops and phones of family and friends.

All that said, I'm really liking 360TS. A nip here, a tuck there, and it's perfect for me! :)
