For as long as SSUpdater is unable or unwilliing to provide a list of their malware sample database, no one will ever know what was tested, nevermind the method. It is interesting to note that at the end of the posted test, they state "Unlike others WE HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE" and yet there is not a shred of evidence of the malware that was used. If it's true that they have nothing to hide, then releasing the sample information would be in keeping with their motto.

Nice, but I have a feeling that you are basically wasting your valuable time with the fanclub of broken tests there. Responses like:

    or

suggest their site is completely infested and taken over by trolls.

Additionally, since they are happy with their results and dont need anyone/group trying to tell them whether it's right or wrong to take old samples... I guess they have zero interest in fixing their broken tests. o_O :thumbd:

    Have a nice day.

This is a group of friends who want a bit of fame. They probably feed on this (people bashing them for the horrific test they just conducted). All they have left is the ability to insult others.

Personally, I don't care how our product (Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware) ranked. Somebody with half a brain could search the Internet and see that the products that they rated the lowest, become the most useful. For example, we all know that SUPERAntiSpyware has phenomenal detection rates, yet it was ranked one of the lowest?

Now, that being said, their tests were not inconclusive. Avira came in at one of the highest. Excellent. It proves to us what we have already known for five or some other odd years. They have always been an excellent product, but then again they have always been around.

So the question becomes this. Should our product add 30mb of definitions for malware that you have no hell in chance of catching as they are completely out of business? I think I will trust my own lead malware researcher, along with the lead malware researchers of other products who surf the Internet all day in the shoes of a helpless user.

Well that is my two cents worth. Hopefully these guys will get the ten minutes of fame they truly desire and move on with their lives (not an insult at all).

I applaud you! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Now THAT's the way a pro should do it -- visit the children's playground and then teach, don't preach. (Ezek 2.5)

IMO a true Professional imparts knowledge to others and doesn't have to go out of his way to make "amateurs" feel inferior.

I will only say that I have to totally agree with
all opins here at wilders and find that the tests and conlusions
by SSUpdater.com are inconclusive and way off!
I also find that post number #94 pretty much says it all
especially by a mod representing thier forum and rules
    on engagment.

Well, there are "couple" more of them, such as this argument "masterpiece", or another one, all this being applauded by their "mature" moderator.

And the "CEO" (a.k.a. "GrandCommander" of that pathetic operation) himself gets upset when people point out the horrible state of his forums.

    LMAO! :D :thumbd:

People in the AV industry deal a whole LOT and I hope they don't waste more time trying to explain what the heck is going on with the recent test. They are already far in spending time in detection. Poor AV guys... :'(

As a consumer, I've seen enough AV guys explain that the test is not real. That's more than enough to not trust this test. AV testing is always a challenge and the perfect methodology has not been implemented yet. Haven't we all seen this already?

If even their moderators applaud their members bashing other people I know I don't want to be at that forum.
I honestly can't say if this is a legitimate test because I just don't know how to test an AV. But I won't change my AV because of this test.

I dont understand how can Norton, Avast and BitDefender get good results. It sounds like a nonsense because I don't see it in the real world.
I don't believe in tests... So it's not important...

Heh, indeed something like "Ignoring all tests can help you maintain your mental sanity" would pretty much fit today's debate... :D

That forum is pathetic. Everyone is sucking up to the admins who are completely unprofessional (just look at their spelling and grammar).

Yeah, I saw that little jab about Wilders over their. Felt like registering and busting a little ass, but then I realized, it is just jealousy. Wilders is and will be, the premier forum for security and breaking news. And I always might stroke a wrong feather with a few mods here, but I would not trade them for the world with the wealth of accurate information, and control they bring.

I know, you guys hate posts like this, but we are your loyal members. Take us or leave us.:doubt:

Wow, that makes things so much worse. They're running an illegal warez forum and claim that they are professional in their testing?

Yeah of course they provide for the "CRAPWARE" products keygens/fixes as well. That's a perfect timing since i have tomorrow morning anyway a meeting with the company lawyer. Now that is really stupid guys. You should have known that such shitty tests draw attention from vendors. Now we have really reached the limit. Under normal circumstances i would have just ignored the whole test drama. But you guys being terrible arrogant, calling vendors crapware (including NOD32) without any sufficient evidence behind it ( once again your silly test is no evidence at all! ) AND providing cracks for the same programs you test? Oh common. There we draw now the line.
