I have been thinking of expanding TI to my laptop by getting another licence and using my desktop to store the image in a secure zone.

I already have a secure zone on my desktop for my desktop!

So my question is if I create another SZ from my laptop does it use the existing sz?, does it create a new sz? and if so how are these managed?

Yes I searched FAQ! but nothing answered the above

    Thanks

    Hello djmorgan,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

If there is an Acronis Secure Zone on the hard disk, then Acronis True Image (any edition) will only allow you to manage it, but not to create another one. However, you still can connect another hard disk with an Acronis Secure Zone on it and Acronis True Image will allow you to save image archive to any of the Acronis Secure Zones as well as restore, explore or verify them later.

    Thank you.

thanks for that, if I understand what you said is that my laptop on creating an image could use the sz on my desktop and therefore the sz would contain both images from my desktop and laptop... :doubt:

In trying to understand this I come to a problem, how can I set the sz on my desktop as a shared partition? if I can't set it as shared it will not be seen by TI/Laptop! I could therefore only save the image on the desktop/HD as a *.tlb!

    Thanks

    Hello djmorgan,

Please note, that you cannot have two or more Acronis Secure Zone on one hard drive. And you cannot share it and create the image from your laptop to Acronis Secure Zone on your desktop. But you can create Acronis Secure Zone on external drive and store the image from both computer there.

    Thank you.
