have a question ,unsure where to ask
    First about defraging,
Since do know how to add a pict here,
I was under the impression that when you defrag your drive,(C & D)
that that puts the files in order & takes up less space on the drive.
befor defrag drive was say (example 1% in use
then after defrag now about 3% in use,any idea why after defragingusing more space on the drive?

2nd question, has anyone used the (on C drive properties) ""compress drive to save disk space? Does it change anything on the operation of your system
    thank you for the help

Defragmentation only sort out files to allow a smoother and a faster access to them, but it does not remove them. Defragmentation software copies files from fragmented location to the new one, so it might be possible, that it has some leftovers in Temp folders, which will be removed eventually, but from 1% to 3%?

Since your HDD usage is 3% then I would not recommend compressing it, since it will slow it down. Well, if you do not need a fast HDD, then it does not matter.
