Wonder how close it is too actual roll out on a mass scale. ??
Could be very interesting in our Context down here re the National Broadband Network rollout and proposed spend of $43 BILLION
( especially as now that = US$ !! )
While I regard a speedy national network as good thing many issues to be sorted...
Not broad enough user base over a whopping square area.
Gigabit speeds might be nice ?? not really sure what any home user would need it for ??
Heh: if you build it they will come ....oh yeah .... that was a fairy tale.
Fibre network also nice for redundancies in the future, enduser prices not settled at ANY level...and govt wholesale monopoly perhaps not a good thing...??
Cost to connect homes..new endpoint connection...HW new home HW...so much to do and so little time.
Recycling millions of superseded tech bits: cables, modems and ? ?
And so we go on..
