100% CPU usage

When writing a download from IE to the hard drive, while updating Office through office update in paticular, nod32krn.exe sends my cpu to 100% usage.

It is a huge annoyance if there are multiple updates to be downloaded, because each completed download has to be written to disk before IE can continue on to the next because the CPU is being hogged and bogged down. I never experienced this with the version of NOD32 before 2.5.

What is up with this?

It could be that the problem is similar to BDSM's in this thread ( https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=149650 ), in which the file he tries to download is full of nested archives and/or runtime packers, which takes forever to scan.

I checked out the links you provided. There really were no real solutions in either of the posts, however. Everything that blackspear suggested has been done and does not correct the problem. This really belongs to 2.5x. I did not have the issue with 2.12.4. It looks like to me that 2.5 scans quite a bit slower than its predecessor, for whatever reason.
