The log for my NOD32 2.5 trial shows a number of entries:-

"Statistical information has been sent to Eset"

What is being sent to Eset?

Hi, there is a fairly good explanation in the NOD32 help file :)

There has been a discussion about this in the forums as well.

Thanks both for the help - in the Help file it also says:-
My setting for this is checked at "Ask before submitting".
Now as far as I know I haven't had any suspicious files and I certainly haven't been asked if I want to submit any to Eset, so why is it submitting information when I haven't ok'd it to do so?

I presume you're looking at the settings on the 'Suspicious Files' tab. On the next tab labeled 'Statistics' there are some other settings that relate more to "Statistical information has been sent to Eset"

When I do switch it off the "Suspicious Files" tab reports: "Note: Submission of statistical information is disabled"

So if I switch off the reporting feature in the "Statistics" tab, does that eliminate the sending of information about suspicious files?
It gives the appearance of "all or nothing".

That thread seems to be discussing whether or not NOD32 is spyware - I don't have that issue but I do not want it randomly sending stats from my PC, I want to "ok" the sending of stats.
From what I see at the moment it appears that I can't do that - if I switch off "Enable submission of anonymous statistical information" it appears that it switches the whole thing off, though I have yet to check with the next update to see if it again sends any stats when no "suspicious" activity has been checked with me.
