Time for the creative spirits here to create something for all to read. I'm sure all can contribute and keep it interesting.
Some saying, a text, poem, not miles long please, a forum related joke, ok.
Let's make this the longest and nicest thread in the forums.

Let me start with this one: (originally written by me)

Today is the first anniversary of my mother's death. She had a great sense of humor and would say some really strange things sometimes. We all miss her very much but we can remember her smiling and wetting her pants laughing. I can't think of any of her jokes right now, must be the tranquilizers. Had surgery again recently...sorry. Anyway God Bless MY MOM and God bless eveybody at Wilders. Have a happy Easter and keep your heads down during the fray! :D

    Hi crkit1,

I'm so very sorry to hear about your mom.
I can imagine how you must feel on this sad day; in particular now it's just one year ago.
I have the same on the day my mom died......
I hope you can find some strenght while remembering her great sense of humor.

And now you yourself had that surgery.
These must be hard times for you.....
I really hope you will recover soon and feel better !

Take good care of yourself, crkit1 !!!

    All my best wishes,
    Jan.

My mom used to tell me one that her dad told her when I was talking about the exciting stuff I thought I was going to do -

"you might ____ too; if you eat regular!" (4 spaces in the blank btw)

lol a little dirty and my mother usually is not but it's from her dad.. and man I love that one.
I know I've got more but that's the only one coming to me now.

My thoughts are with you as well crkit1 - more than once I've cried about losing my mother and it hasn't even happened; not expecting it or anything but whenever something makes me think of what it will be like... It's one of the VERY few things that can do that to me.

My parents were already old when they got married. I was still a young person when I lost my father. My mother passed away 3 years ago. There isn't a single day I spend without thinking of them. I'll never stop missing my parents esp. my father who was generous, whimsical, and creative.
Time has soften the hurt a little but it will not go away. There will always be a scar. ANW, there is no timetable for grief, it's something we have to live with every day.

All of it to say that I understand you crkit 1

I remember my surgery and rehab(hernia)from a few years back.Take it easy, one day at a time.
Your Mom's Golden Rules have a lot of wisdom in them.

    Regarding losing ones parents.
I am fortunate that both of my parents are still alive and while they have some health concerns, reading some of these posts makes me appreciate them even more.

An old one I remembered today

"say what you mean, and mean what you say"

It's simple enough but lots of people don't seem to understand it!

Here's a song I composed when I started to be on vacation:

    NO SCHOOL TODAY

No school today students are gone away
The teacher’s gonna rest for she did her best
No school today it seems a common sight
But students passing by know the reason why

How could you know just what this message means
The end of their fighting, crying and shouting
How could you know how the year has been
Behind that door they can be really mean

But all that’s left is a place dark and lonely
A quiet building where nobody’s coming
But I’ll miss the good time when they were so fine.

No school today students are gone away
The teacher’s gonna rest for she did her best
No school today it seems a common sight
But students passing by know the reason why

    hey all....
where yoo all are friends.... come on lets revive the thread.....
was going through the thread as was adviced by uguel... to show you all "my say... my poems...songs i write"... saw crkit1.... maybe it was long time back but losing one's near ones... is in one word PAINFUL....

    I am waiting...mummy...

    She was standing quietly
    Under an old Banyan tree
There were none else, rain was falling
Thought to ask if problem any
    I slowly went near her
    She was already wet
I advised, "I think u should go home now,
Have anyone told u to wait?"
I saw she had no reaction
    It was raining heavily too
I was thinking hard what else to say
As I had nothing else to do
I thought to try once more
"Hello, are u hearing my voice"
No she was still as ever
I was running short of choice
I thought then to return back
Suddenly something came to my ear
"My Mummy has gone to heaven
I am just waiting for her here!!!!"

These are some verses I wrote a couple of weeks ago...
    Hope you'll like them!

    Dawn on the Lake

    Tiny sunlight gleams
    On thy water
    Sparkles of a theme
    Of Gold and amber

    In thy crystal bowl
    I shed my tears
    This is the dawn
    I shall not fear

    The murmur of waves
    Once bewildered me
    But now I am saved
    And exhume liberty

Hi crkit1. I'm really sorry to hear about your mom. I know exactly how you must feel. My mom died on Aug. 8th this year. But my faith in Jesus and knowing that she is in a much better place has healed me of my sorrow. She was very sick for a long time and constantly suffering. She had been on what we thought was her death bed more than once, and always came out of it. The last time we wondered if this would be the last time or if her suffering would continue for more years. Fortunately for her it was the last time, and we are all thankful. Perhaps these few lines will help you to cope. They have helped me.

No more suffering, no more pain,
Just a few tears now and again.
She is home now, where she longed to be,
And we are left with her fond memories.
She's always watchful, so never gone,
And even though I must go on.
I'll always remember the way it used to be,
When I think of those fond memories.
