How do I delete files (never to return)?

I have run Tracks eraser pro 5.0 inc cleaning free space (3X) but when I run RECOVER MY FILES 2.91 it recovers old images from web pages ie at location C:\[DIR00014975]. How can these be deleted. I have been into dos and can't see them

I am running win 2000 sp4. can anyone help?

Spybot S&D has a "secure shredder" in the 'Tools' section.

Other than that Eraser is the goods.

lol, I only added that in for a laugh. I tried it once on a 500kb file, dang, took forever, I'd seriously have to have a v-e-r-y sensitive file to erase to use that option though.

After reading this, I'm not going to use this one.
I better use Eraser, but I don't think I will find the "Tassie's Killing Fields" in my Eraser.

Decided to try out Eraser to wipe free space on C.It couldn't get at around 350 cluster tips yet seemed to do ok,or so I thought.

After Eraser finished I analysed with Perfect disk and my MFT was double the size which reverted back to nornal after a reboot.

Might add checkdisk booted in at restart.

So then I run my file recovery wizard which ususally finds 300-400 files after a general cleanup and it finds 12,500 orphaned files.

Probably the overwrite process.Anyone know for sure.C is 5gig with 1.3 gig of data.
