  1. Hi all, found this one about buffer overflow:

    1) General Questions

(zorrito, please do not copy entire contents of a page. A small summary along with your views or questions about the software would be more appropriate. In this case the links on the main page is enough if people wish to read further. - snap)

    Hi,

This post could be more welcome in the Security Issue section or on the Software/hardware one: trojans and Buffer Overflow are not the same thing...

I've posted a special thread about the 3 well known softs (on a single Windows system) which protects against this attack :

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=72191

    The reference is Stack Defender.

And as i said, i don't think they're necessary and i will not open my wallet for anyone of them: the probability for a home user to be victimized by a Buffer Overflow is really minor.
But why not for paranoiac users...

For the one who could be interested on this subject, there is a comparison (doc) of Buffer Overflow protection by specialists:

    http://mediawhore.wi2600.org/nf0/convention-cdroms/defcon12/Silberman-Johnson/

    Regards

Nice find, zorrito. It seems to confuse ProcessGuard, though. PG can't seem to figure out which program is which with this running. :/ Another one for the collection though :)

This looks like it could be another interesting Extra security layer.

There was a thread back in 2k4 about an earlier version, https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=75388&highlight=WehnTrust

    . . .

    etc etc

Looks interesting, but how good is the program really? Does it really do as they advertise? Some programs advertise they do one thing, but when tested it proves to be another story.

Hmmmm, not many comments on this one. I thought it would get many more responses, I guess no one is really interested in buffer overflow protection.

OK so does anyone actually uses this app, and what about conflicts, I´ve already read in another thread that it won´t work together with PG. I guess I will have to test it myself to see if it does not cause any problems with other apps. But is this app really useful, is it likely to stop any zero day malware attacks? o_O

But I want it now DA, can´t wait! :D

But seriously, it does seem to conflict with certain apps, and as long as these issues can´t be fixed I won´t be using it.
