Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

    Thanks a lot Eldar!!!
    also, according to him:

On newer versions of JASC PSP the other files may be ending with PspFrame, but don't worry it will still recognise the pfr files. If you have any trouble then just try renaming the pfr files to PspFrame. I have described some as borders or patterns, but the files are still exactly the same.

So, if I post frames links for Paint Shop Pro 7, they might work with Paint Shop
pro 9 as well. Very good...I will browse the net and try to find those frames
again. But the ones I had weren't so cool as yours Eldar. Nevermind I will try to find them anyway.

Of course, I will look for Paint shop 9 frames too. ;)

    Thanks Eldar. :)

Oh I want to mention that I added more precisions in my first tutorial above.
And that it is worth downloading all the filters they suggest on the Xero pages.

    Filter set: 1-2-3-4
Also I like to use make a flake for snowing effects!

    Here's the filters link again:

    My pleasure Uguel. ;)
My bad for not looking at the text before. :doubt:
Thanks in advance. I'll look forward to it.
Thanks again for the update. I'll use it on my next animated gif. Downloaded all the filters as suggested. :)

While I'm sitting around waiting for Uguel and Eldar to help me out with the snowflake thing.....I thought I would go through how I do these....for anyone who is interested.

First of all I DL'd some sparkles / twinkles / flares from http://desktopenhancements.surfhoo.com/KandyKisses/myfind.html
These will DL as zip files which I unzip into C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 9\Picture Tubes. You can actually create subfolders for any PT's you DL, which you will see in the drop down menu in PSP9.

So I open any pic in PSP9 and use Picture Tubes to add a few twinkles or flares.

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

I change the colours on the drop down menu from the post above. I usually add about 3. I then 'save as' ......thispic1.
Rather than opening 4 copies of the same pic (for the four animation frames) I just use the "back/undo" button to remove those tubes. I add another 3 or so and 'save as'....thispic2. So on until I have 4 nice frames with different twinkles. Easy eh?

Next I open up Animation Shop and use the wizard to import the four frames.

I keep hitting 'next' a few times until I get to 'add image'. Here I browse and add the four frames.

Here's where my bit of trial and error comes into play.....
I just keep resizing the animation and saving it...

Now when Uguel gets back, she can tell everyone the 'correct' procedure for creating one of these! But I had some fun anyway :D :D
    Cheers.

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

Sorry Brad, I just downloaded that filter yesterday and I'm still a beginner when it comes to animations. :doubt:
I think Uguel will know more about how to get this done. Even with the explanation on that webpage, it still is a bit too technical for me. Even in Dutch it's not so easy to understand.
Thanks for the instructions. It's quite simple once you see it.

If someone is interested, I'll post some links to tutorials and other stuff here:
    - Robin's Tutorials and Other PSP Resources
    - Frosted windowpane (animated)
Not the best? Splendid frame you mean. :D
Great job on the animation and keep on playing. ;)

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

Thank you Brad for the good tips!!! :)
It is very encouraging to see all of you taking part
    and giving tips like that.

Ok, here's a screenshot below of what I did.

    The main steps:

    1. I opened a picture of a winter scene in Paint Shop.
    2. I duplicated the pic 1 time for the animation will have 2 frames.
    3. Then I went into "effect" and browsed until I saw "snowflakes"
    4. For the first picture or frame I applied the same settings
as in the screenshot except *I had about 3000 in "random Seed".
    5. For the snow I chose basic snow (see screenshot)
    6. When I was satisfied with the results, I saved both pictures under
.PSP format and then I opened them in Jasc Animation.
    7. I selected picture 2, then I copied it (Ctrl+C) and paste it after
    picture 1 (Ctrl+L)
    8. I set the time interval to 15.
    9. I saved my animation. Et voilà! :)

*Of course, it can vary more or less... ;)

    Hi Uguel,
I cant find snowflakes anywhere! I have DL'd a plugin called make-a-flake...but cannot find any 'snowflakes'! is it a plugin? I'm not sure if I have it. Any chance of a screenie to show me where? Sorry to be a bother! :)
    Brad.

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

    No problemo! :)

It is okay to ask, lol!
I tried to do a screenshot but when I opened the menu
and went back in MWSnap 3 (screenshot program)
the drop down menu window of PSP kept shutting:(
Even if I was pressing on Ctrl it did not work!
But I can type you the path for it is not very easy to find....;)

    1. I went into effect>filters and plugins>VDL Adrelnaline>Snowflakes!

That is the way it is presented to me in PSP7 :)
