    They are working to release the website and program in english soon. The program has good heuristics and not bad detection rates (that's surprising good for a product that is not so well known). It is better than some other known AV's out there...

    IBK,could you test it in a near future? I'm really interesting on how it performs. Looks very nice for now on Jotti...

    I already tested it, but the results were for the VBA company only. And anyway, even if it is good, currently it is still under the 85% and it had some issues here on which they are currently working to solve. Even if it is under the 85%, it is better than most of the other scanners that are also under the 85%, which are listed in the additional test on my site.

    Seems asthough they are getting a start on the english site;
    http://www.anti-virus.by/./en/

    Also does anyone know if they are just a clone of KAV? Because I noticed they have almost the exact same filename's for virii and malware that KAV does. I know alot of the companies use similiar naming conventions, but it is just a thought. Although it did miss one of the virus I threw at it on Jotti's that KAV missed so I don't know. But even if they do and they have a decent Heuristic Engine, that would be very nice.

    Strike my last comment about being a KAV clone, I have installed the latest Beta with the latest updates and it missed 16 out of 64 that Kaspersky calls a piece of malware. So I guess I can negate that comment.
    Be aware if you do install the latest version you need a keyfile much like the KAV setups inorder to get the latest updates. The beta key is available and works well. I do have to say that the Heuristics are quite good they picked up 3 that were not in the virus database. One thing I don't like it the fact that the setting for heuristics and deletion are sort of hidden, but other than that for a newer AV this is a nice start, a big plus for me is that it only starts one process and is at 20k or so of VM. I really like the "feel" also I cannot wait to get an actual full on well developed version this has the makings of a great AV. Just my .02

    Just for the record, it appears that this AV program is crafted in Belarus, not in Russia. It might not seem like much of a difference to those who live in the "West," but to the people of those respective countries it would be like saying a Canadian product was made in Texas :D .

    Thank you for providing the link. I agree with you that vba32 is not a clone of kav. from the results of http://virusscan.jotti.org/ , which i keep on refreshing every several minutes, vba32 missed lots of malwares the kav could catch and i think it is a below average av.

    jmschwartz-
    Thank you for the clarification. My guess came from the Russian webpage and now i know i was wrong.

    While testing this software, I have been in contact with a support person, Serge, and he has been a great help. There are a few bugs that still need to be worked out and they know about them. Also they are constantly working the database and training the heuristic checker from what I am told. As they seem to have an influx of users now they are realising the support needs and are working on a distributer in Germany and eventually the US. They are taking it slow which IMO is a good step. I must say I like the interface and the heuristic engine very much. And I stated to them in the emails I anxiously await the international release.
    Below are a few snippet from the emails:

    Seems like a nice company. I like to help the developing companies. Maybe I'll test VBA32 out too sometime :)

    But only after my exams are finished :'(

    Well I downloaded this AV my itself and here are some preliminary findings;

    * Main file is a 11.7MB Download.

    * Can carry out a custom install.

    * Places only one running process in memory; vba32ldr.exe which is the VBA32 Loader. Takes up only 11.42 MB VM.

    Can update once without the beta key-file, but a number of configurations are missing in the demo mode.

    Beta key-file is HERE.

    RTM file-settings. On this old test computer ( 400MHz, 192MB RAM ), I found the all-files settings a little heavy.

    The tray icon of the RTM becomes animated during updating and scanning of files: shades of Kaspersky!

    The Scanner's main GUI. The on-demand scanner was very slow. Much slower than Dr Web, KAV, NOD and McAfee have been on this box with the same number of files to scan.

    VBA32 places 2 entries in the right-click menu. One for the scanner and one for the properties of the scanner. IMO, a nice touch.
