THIS is a collection of ads tools i think every kav user needs. alll of them except one is freeware.i think even a kav and non kav user may benefit from all of this..try it

remember one is shareware-ntfs info,i tried almost all and i thinkthere are more softwares to view ads tags.i believe ERASER and REGSEEKER ,and ADAWARE has this capability too..correct me if i am wrong.
everyone must have been familiar with rejzors ntfs eraser over here .i have used it too and found it to be very useful.can someone actually test the others and report on their effectiveness??i found out that the command line tool lads is quite good in viewing the ads tags ..

 

I would like to add the remark that KAV streams are only accessible for view or deletion in safe mode ... or if KAV is removed from your system. KAV users; dont be surprised if you can't find any KAV streams. KAV uses rootkit techniques to protect those streams.
This was not mentioned in this discussion, so i think every one knows this allready.

 

That's not entirely true, because most of them will be removed in normalmode after Kav is uninstalled (using NTFS Streams Eraser or ADS spy).

In fact the fastest way i found is to do a scan in normalmode & one in safemode, way faster than doing away with 40000 ads-files al in safemode.

Your right offcourse; that's what i meant with "or if kAV is removed from your system". In that case the protection from KAV is gone so they are accessible like any other stream. However, there are allways files in use (and protected by the system), so if you want to clean all of the kav streams you can boot into safe mode. But i dont think even then you have a 100% cleaning operation that way, so even better, boot with a bootcd/bootdisk and clean from there. Never tested that last option myself (because i'm still a KAV user), but this must work surely.
