I have just installed SpywareGuard, after reading about it here, but when I did a live update, the lastest definition date shows as 8/30/03. Have there really been no updates since then?

Also, I am currently using SpywareBlaster and SpyBot S&D (teatimer function enabled) Will these three all play nicely together, or should I drop SpyBot?

    Thanks!

    Hi, seakiwi

Make sure you have Version 3.2. [latest update is 11/12/04 UK] or [12/11/04 US]

    Yes they work fine together.

The Quest - you've made a little mistake - he was talking first about SpywareGuard - that is at version 2.2 and the latest definitions are 1/22/04.

So, SpywareGuard could use that next update - is it not saying that the update was unsuccessful?

As to why the last update was almost a year ago - you can find that around the forum a lot with a quick search but the short answer is that SG makes pretty heavy use of heuristics.

As to SWB and Spybot's Teatimer - they work fine together on my 3 PCs also.

Actually....SpywareGuard is at version 2.2 with the latest definition update of 1\22\04.

If you are still having problems really receiving the latest update....if your using one....could it be a firewall issue ?

You can also follow the below link of how to get the latest definition files manually....if you'd like.

Thanks people. It seems the program needed a few minutes to update that in the interface. Once I closed the program - it showed correctly when I re-opened it.

    Thanks for your help :)

Nothing but reading quickly, that one - which we all do plenty often!
