Does anyone know how to disable schedules scans in Kaspersky Security Scan ? The windows service it leaves is greyed out so the user cannot disable the service. I would like to use it as on-demand scanner only.

Last time I used it I ran autoruns as an administrator and unchecked the box for the service.

Did that disable the process running in the background ? And were you able to run it on-demand when needed ?

I've just tested it. If service is disabled scan does not run on demand. If service is put on automatic or manual, the service is running in background eating up 100 MB of RAM. So KSS is not "real" on demand scanner.
