Mrkvonic, in writing about LXDE earlier this year, described it as a bland and boring environment.

That has been addressed in a Lubuntu 12.04 LTS remaster, called LXLE Paradigm, which offers a choice of FOUR desktop environments - XP (default), Unity, Mac OSX and GNOME 2!

    Here are some screenshots:

    XP (Default):

    Unity:

    Mac OSX:

    GNOME 2:

You can read more about here:

You can download it, in 32 bit and X64 versions from here:

Its a Beta so its not final but this project looks promising - you can finally set up LXDE the way you like a desktop. It has a hefty collection of software - considering the Beta weighs in at 2.1 GB, that's enough to keep both newbies and power users happy! And it contains a lot of customizations and tweak that make the distro user super-friendly. Plus, it has over 50 stunning wallpapers! :thumb:

Who says LXDE has to be boring? Mrkvonic might want to check out this new Lubuntu-based LTS distro. After seeing this stunning LTS remaster of a well known Ubuntu fork, people will never look at LXDE in the same light again! :D

Based on Ubuntu/Lubuntu 12.04.02 LTS, which makes it perfect for weak or underpowered computers, notebooks and netbooks.

And you can work in a classic desktop environment. :thumb:

Seems to be an ideal Linux distro for those EOL WinXP (legacy) PCs - discussed here.
