Just tried to download def updates to my SB5 and get the following message (on my WinXP and Win7) computers:

    Error Connecting to Update Server
The server may be temporarily unavailable, or there may be a conflict with firewall software installed on your PC. The update information file may have also gotten corrupted during download.
    Please try again soon.

What might be wrong? Does anyone know?

Same thing here on two computers, tried several times today.
TCPview sees SYN_SENT and there is no connection and no subsequent packets.
After a long wait, SpywareBlaster closes, and that's that.

    Both computers are XP-Pro.
One uses Avast free, other - Avira Free
One uses Kerio, other Sunbelt, port 80 of the update servers allowed in both and always worked without a problem.

Same issue here on several computers some running Win7 some WinXP, different locations as well. It's been like this all day. It's definitely nothing to do with my computers. All connections have been checked for conflicts with the firewalls. I downloaded an update last night fine on two of the affected computers so it was working fine then with no changes to anything since that time.

I'm seeing the same thing on two different computers both running Win7 X64.

Same here. I have not been able to connect to the update server whole day long. BTW Ron it is not my comp.

I even tried " Use alternative download method " which it gave signs to connect but at the end show the same message " Error Connecting to Update servers ".

    What's going on ?

You may want to allow a firewall exception, though it has never been necessary in the large group of people that I know that run SpywareBlaster.

There is currently a definitions connectivity issue (per screenshot)

I just rebooted and tried again, Ron - same thing.

Perhaps the Mod Team should ping javacool to let him know of the issue.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks a lot for the heads-up. This took a bit to track down (combination of causes, including a DNS mis-hap), but the fix should now be in the process of propagating. Anyone affected should be able to successfully connect to the updating servers again soon.

    Best regards.

Have just tried again now and it is working again. Seems to be early in the morning that it doesn't work?
