    Hi,

I'm using Webroot's firewall for outbound connections protection and windows xp firewall for inbound.

I love Privatefirewall very much. And want to use it.

But I'm wondering if using Privatefirewall would conflict with webroot's firewall or overlap in protection with webroot? Or would the 2 get along together just fine and actually complement each other?

I'd really appreciate your help and suggestions.

    Best Regards,
    ams963

I've had no problems whatsoever running WSA (Essentials or Complete) & PFW together on different operating systems and computers since early beta stage of WSA...they've been very happy together :)
I'd strongly recommend this pairing :thumb:

Thanks fax! I agree you shouldn't have any issues with other FW's just as long WSA has full access to the Internet and not blocked in any way! When I update an app (Like HMP) I get a pop-up from both LNS and WSA's Firewall for it to have access to the net! ;) But if you do have issues please start a new thread in the Prevx Forum!

    HTH ams963,

I want just that....wsa working in harmony with privatefirewall...giving pop-ups and protecting while privatefirewall does it's own pop-ups and not get in each other's way......

    thx a lot TH....:thumb:

what would be the proper settings both in wsa and privatefirewall to ensure that they don't get in each others path?

also like privatefirewall protects registries.....so wsa may conflict with privatefirewall and this may remain hidden for users like me with minimal knowledge, right?.......

Under FW tab in network applications I set "allow" for pfgui.exe, and in Privatefirewall I have it set for both applications/processes to allow WRSA.exe.
Works fine like that from what I've experienced past 10 months :)

You're very welcome ams963 :) Hope all goes well for you, but if you do happen to run into any confusion/issues with WSA just pop over to Prevx section, as Triple Helix advised. Fare thee well :thumb:

just to be on the safe side.....what kind of symptoms should I expect if there is indeed any conflict apart from unusual slowdowns?......

Sorry, maybe I've now confused you a little?
I've seen no problems/conflicts/issues/slowdowns with these two together.
I was just trying to reassure you that if you did happen to meet any small confusion/issue with WSA (unlikely I'd say) then just ask at Prevx section.
Privatefirewall's support is also excellent if needed at any stage in future fyi.

    edit: spelling correction.
