Virus in Android Market pretends to be NetQin Security

    Another thing: who determines which "permissions" are needed by the app? The app currently has the needed permissions as:

    I've seen some of the apps in the market that need location, personal data info, ability to send text messages, etc. It would seem a malware app would need several permissions to run properly. Does the developer cite the needed permissions? Or does someone in the Android Market run the app and then let the potential users know what permissions are needed? It would seem that if the developer can determine what needed permissions to list (or leave out) that the needed permissions list could be manipulated easily.

    FWIW - looks like the program has been removed from the Market.

    Actually looks like every Android App by that vendor has been removed from the Market. That would be even better news to me.
