ESS didnt detect this threat, but SAS did!!!

I just downloaded a new program called Hardware Checker that is supposed to give you detailed info about your computer

When I tried to run it, this is what I go…ESS didn’t do a thing! That is exactly why you need a 2nd wall of defense! And SAS is the best at doing this!

But my question is, why didn't ESS catch it? Everything is updated

I submitted the file to ESET anyway

 

Norton calls it clean. It might just be a false positive on the part of SAS. I have never downloaded a malicious file from Majorgeeks.

 

100$ says they tell you its a clean file.

Thank goodness SAS was there to stop it before it did nothing malicious

 

Wrong one. Send it to SAS instead.

It seems to me a perfectly legit tool for getting information about installed hardware components. There's no sign of a rogue behavior. I'm sorry but ESET won't enter the race for detecting most files, including clean applications, corrupted or otherwise non-functional files.
