PrevX as a standalone malwaredefender?

I have just got myself a new computer,with Windows 7 (64 bit).Is it possible to use PrevX 3.220 as standalone antimalware?
I use a NAT router and Windows own firewall.

In my opinion layered approach is better. Something like Avast or Asquared free. No security program blocks 100 percent.

 

Thank you for the answers.That was the feeling I had myself,but I wanted to be sure.

Motherroad-> Yes no doubt,a layered approach will be a stronger solution.But I trust Prevx more and more.It seems to find more malware than most other solutions.
But I do use MBAM to a weekly on demand scan.

I used Prevx and Avast av combo and they are both so light that I noticed no system slow down at all.

 

If you add Sandboxie to your list I think you would have what you need.
And a must is Imaging software.

The free version offers very limited removal, and no blocking. I wouldn't recommend that.

I used Sandboxie when I started using Prevx,but as the time went,I used Prevx alone more and more.There was 2 attacks on that old XP machine,and both was intercepted by Prevx,almost before they had started.
With this new computer,I have Windows 7,and it looks like it has a pretty good security out of the box,so I feel confident just using Prevx.And I do use an image,should anything happend.

The answer to you're Question is YES.

I do want to say that the best security for your computer, is your brain ! You need to be careful what websites you visit and most importantly what files you download to you're PC. Make sure to have a image of your drive, just in case. Also if you have sensitive data, try to encrypt them.

Catches everything is a gross exaggeration.

 

I should have said everything bad, it caught 3 exploits trying to board my machine each time i updated Java, Trojans they were and they weren't FP's Granted, it may be a gross exaggeration i just got excited.. Since I've been using Security Essentials I haven't had any infections that's been oh about 2 years..

Many folk were not impressed with it yesterday when they discovered it had removed the very excellent Chrome browser from their machines

 

Never heard that one before, maybe you could post it so we can examine the details?
