CFA is a new, free antivirus from Celframe Security Labs (I assume its a division apart of the company Celframe). It is a dual-engine AV and offers cloud protection like Panda Cloud. It uses both signatures and cloud, like Panda, Immunet, and Kingsoft. It can be ran as a standalone and as a companion AV.

^They probably forgot that the latest free version of Avira has rootkit protection.

Download size is 140.86K and downloaded in less than two seconds. It is currently downloading additional files which took about 4-5 minutes for me. Entire installation took less than seven minutes. No restart.

It loaded only one process: CelframeTaskBar.exe - 16,948K

So far its pretty light, but Panda Cloud is somewhat lighter. 2nd place on my top three list (PCAV, CFA, avast! free). ;)

Thanks for the feedback. Im currently using Avast and liking it. I did not care for Panda. It did not feel "light" at least on my system. I also did not care for the gui, it just seemed to simple (for me) at least.

Maybe I will check this one out and give it a go.

    Thanks!

Fired up and re-imaged my sacrificial box for this and there's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Oh well, maybe next time. For now - the stock Wilders wrap up: it's heavy, looks like a rogue, it's bloated.

Thats cruel. :cautious: Especially since its from a trusted company and obviously licensed those AV engines.

Interesting. I don't think it deserves the title world's first social anti virus, because Immunet came before it.

According to Linkedin Celframe has 200-500 employees, and was founded in 2005 so it's not a new company.

The "Real-Time outbreak monitor" link at the celframe mainpage goes to Commtouch so there must be some kind of partnership between them.

How so? Immunet doesn't mainly rely on the power of social networking, or encrypts your username and password when logging into facebook or twitter. Celframe does these things, and is the reason for their title.

I'm curious to know how the Facebook and Twitter protection works. They don't give a lot of information about it, it could be send through a proxy or VPN, something like keyscrambler to protect the keystrokes until they are sent through HTTPS/SSL, or just enforcing HTTPS/SSL during login on these sites.

I was unable to get the realtime community protection option enabled. Did anybody else come across this issue?

500 employees and only one man updating blogs and that too company's CEO.. Strange !!

I guess they are somehow related to SPAMfighter, not sure though. Even I've not found anything about its dual engines..

Yeah I had the same problem. I tired a few times to update it and see if it would work. Alas it didn't. That was enough for me. So uninstalled it. Maybe when it becomes a little more polished.

Anyone find any similarity in its GUi with Immunet Protect?

    Untitled.jpg

This product is really buggy at present. It tsays it won't open real time protection untill update is completed. But update doesn't complete in any time. We should give this product more time.

It does look Immunet, the logo also looks a little like the OA shield in my opinion.
