Threatfire was last updated around February 2011, as per AChen on the PC Tools Forums

The program has had two updates as of this year, so I won't call it just dead yet, not to mention that their forum is still quite alive.

Put it this way - everyone that has taken my advice to remove it has thanked me later when they realised what a drain it had been on performance.

When I'm cleaning a computer and Threatfire is present, uninstalling it is usually the change that makes the biggest difference.

Don't get me wrong, I was a big proponent of it once.

It may not be dead per say, but its been dead to a lot of wilders memebers including my self.If I remember correctly it has created some issues in the past. I think one issue rendered a useless keyboard, but not exactly sure though.

 

That is correct I remember reading about that on the PC Tools forums.

On an older machine of mine I have TF 4.1 installed and that was the last version I used of it. I have not used this slightly broken machine in a while but as it was working with it on it I did not find TF slowing it down that much. It works smoothly 99% of the time the only time I had an issue was when it was installed with SpywareBlaster 4.1 and that issue would have been fixed if I updated TF which I never did.
