I have not personally installed. I've received this information from comodo forum. Directly from two mods that were answering the same question. The only thing it doesn't include is what was stated.

Re: FREE 1-Year License of Comodo Internet Security Pro 2011

I tried to install it on virtual machine and can not install just the firewall?

    Geekbuddy is useless!

Honestly, I think the free version is better than the Pro!

There are people on the Comodo forum who claim to have installed CIS Pro but there is no TrustConnect. Could it be a separate download? The posters seemed pretty adamant that Comodo would not issue a watered down promo of the Pro version. I think last year when there was the giveaway that included TC there was some sort of separate sign up.

I installed this version. It's basically the same as the free version. It did not give me the option to NOT install Geek Buddy, which is worse than Comodo Internet Security Premium. The free version at least gives you the option NOT to install GB (which is worthless for me).

Not sure why you'd install PRO over Premium...

I can also verify that it did not install Trust Connect (VPN). Trust Connect as a separate download is $8.99 per month.

I think the reason they don't want you to custom install is to ensure the malware-free guarantee.

How does Comodo compare to Avira as far as detection rate and being light on a system?

Better then Avira, maybe not the detcetion part, but the protection is quite better, because its a complete suite IS.. vs AV and its build based on tech like HIPS, autosandbox, and firewall, which Avira don't have.

I think I read on the Comodo forum the money guarantees are only for people who purchased the product, not for the trial. TC is not included which is a deal breaker for me, even for free.
