Who has tried MalAware and how does it compare to other similar scanners such as HMP or PrevX?
    Any comments about it :D

It doesn't remove threats. I think EEK is better.

Yeah similar to HMP and Prevx free version infact the former two do remove some tracking cookies and even some license free malware(in prevx) for free too:cautious:

    MalAware removes Active Malware: ...Memory...(C:\Windows\System32)...

    By far, I prefer HMP.:thumb:

Really? I just said it doesn't, according to ako's list. I'll have to check on that with him.

Seems a bit useless to me, scans only a small part of the system and latest version is older than two years. I'd rather use EEK to profit from Emsisoft's strengths and use Hitman Pro for fast and effective scans.

    Look at this Page:
    License
"MalAware is free for any use.
Please note that MalAware performs a very fast scanning and may therefore not wholly
give information on whether the PC is possibly infected in system areas outside the scanned.
MalAware can remove a limited number of infections, but can not provide long term protection of your PC.
With the start of a scan, you agree that anonymous information about your system status is transmitted to the Emsisoft webservers.
This is the only technical possible way to do a full cloud based scan of all active processes."

MalAware detects if you don't have the latest version -- it seems to be updated at least daily -- and asks if you want to download the latest version.

The scan is very quick, about a minute. When I've tested it on infected machines it finds much less than other fast scanners like MalwareBytes, Hitman Pro, or Norton Power Eraser.

When it does find something, it will remove the first five items free.

All in all, not really that helpful.

    Regards.

I had it in my "toolbox" for a few months, ran it on several infected computers, would only remove a handful of items if any were ever found. I never saw a point in the program to be honest. It is quite fast though.

I can see why it's listed as such. Gonna keep the red dot.
