When installing software these days one must read the screens more carefully to avoid unwanted crap installed as for example with Foxit sneakily change the back and next buttons to decline and accept, but if you take the time to read it's easy to notice

 

I do use Foxit Reader, and I have reinstalled it many times reading their intentionally misleading window for the "ask toolbar". I've never fallen into that trap, not because I'm smart but I take my time to read installations protocols.

Most of the people I watched installing new programs, they seemed more concerned to do it as fast as it is humanely possible, perhaps out of a geeky urban myth whereby if you are fast with your fingers it implies a great knowledge of computers (which is at times true, and it explains why even knowledgeable users can be mislead).

 

I can say the same, though I like to pretend it's because I take time to read and I'm smart.

To the O.P: Unfortunately, many would read your tutorial yet still screw it up. No fault of yours, however.
You did a good thing there, and hopefully it alerts and helps a few folks.
