Does this offer the ability to commit changes without rebooting?

You can keep changes without rebooting and if you reboot, changes will be gone. I recommend this application. I am going to use it mostly for trying out programs but surfing sandboxed its also is very nice.

I have it installed and protecting my entire C drive. Windows folder, users folders, program files, program files (x86), etc. The highest Ive seen RAM usage was 13.7xMbs. I/O is in the bits, not bytes. Very very minimal I/O as well. Program feels very snappy and responsive. Over all if your looking for something like this Id say dont miss out on this give away. Adds maybe 2 seconds, if you stretch it out, to boot time when the desktop appears.

Even if you dont need it now you can get it and save the key for a later date as it doesnt expire.

For the giveaway of version #1, the licence included free updates and support for the life of the version number (#1).

So with this version, you should be covered for everything until version #3 is released. But if there is an update - say 2.5, you would get that free.

So obviously protecting every folder isnt a very user friendly alternative. You have to carefully select folders and such so that your other programs that access temp files and folders can still access them and read and change them as you use the program.

Anyone have any configurations for this yet?

From what I understand the folder protection and system protection are separate entities. You can have folders protected (sandboxed) from changes without protecting the entire system. The system protection does exactly what it says. It virtualizes the entire OS. Am I right in my assumption?

WTF is a OS virtualizing and folder protection program. If you get hit by an attack and your system is virtualized rebooting will get rid of it from what I understand.

Downloaded and Keycode is in my mail box. :)

But i can not install it yet, reason being that i still have CTM installed and Time freeze warned very clearly that it would cause problems. Since i am not so happy any more about CTM and since a few other things are no longer to my liking i will first start to backup stuff tomorrow and then format my HD and install everything new. And then i will install Time Freeze. :D

Seems a whole lot more useful to me then ctm. Thank you for posting this Pinso. :thumb:

I assume WTF runs the same way Shadow Defender does, right?
The person who runs SD has been AOL for a while, so SD might eventually be in peril. WTF might take up the slack if he doesn't return.

Works fine. It has x86 and x64 counterparts.

@Fred. Simply put yes. All this does is virtualize/sandbox folders and the OS. If you get infected with a keylogger or trojan or anything that harvests passwords, usernames, etc. it can still do that and will be present until you restart.

Thanks a lot for posting this GAOTD, Pinso. :)

Like Morro said there are some app. that could have conflits with W. Time Freeze. E.g., Macrium Reflect, with their 'pssnap.sys' driver:

Im aware of what it says. If GAOTD uses a license and username you can save it and install later from the manufacturer. Ive done it countless times. I still have my IOBit 360 keys, IOLO Firewall keys, Process Lasso keys, and ZAP FW just to name a few and every one of them work. The only time it works this way though is if they give you the key and username or you have to register at a site like this particular GAOTD. In cases where GAOTD has the registration built into the installer it wont work.

    Ah, cool, thats good

People are saying on GAOTD that this program doesnt work, as in the install may bork the windows OS if imaging software like acronis or macrium reflect are present. That is not good as imaging software is quite critical!
