That note make me a lil' bit nervous but after uninstalling old version and installing this version everything looks fine here on Seven X64.

last time, I make CTM work on my machine...
now I cant... I tried the version that worked fine last time but it still did not work.

looks like CTM might have trashed my MBR.

can Windows XP CD built-in partition tool can repair my harddisk?

Maybe it's better to ask support in CTM forum? -http://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-ctm/comodo-time-machine-28155286178-bug-reports-t59643.0.html-

There are two threads on the Comodo forum. One of them is:

    https://forums.comodo.com/help-ctm/...without-ctm-t58885.0.html;msg412391#msg412391

I have been considering trying CTM and I downloaded and activated (in a VM) iCare Data Recovery for the purpose of fixing an MBR should I ever need it. They mention a number of tools in that thread and the iCare Data Recovery is presently available free. There are a few others mentioned also.

    Good luck!

Oh well, I guess it'll just never fit with me. Installed yesterday, everything went fine until I found out that I could not in any way access the hard disk...

Right-Click > Send To | Would freeze every time.
Opening My Computer via Windows Explorer would freeze.
Tried to uninstall but the uninstaller froze at 0% for 5 hours.
Booted into safe-mode and uninstalled fine, was told to reboot so I did.
I met the COMODO Time Machine console after the reboot, the uninstall froze @ 0% again.
No way to boot back into Windows, recovery console wasn't working.
MBR was corrupted (as usual with CTM).
Booted into an old MBR recovery CD I had, problem solved.

Now, if I only had a penny for every time I have rebooted my test PC :D

Everything is fine in Windows 7 32 bits and 178 CTM.
Seems a lot of other problems with 166 version were solved :thumb:

    Tip:

Before installing CTM, make an image copy with Paragon Free or simular.

After install check whether Paragon recognises the Partition as a valid one. If invalid, then uninstall CTM and check whether problem persists.
When still having an 'invalid partition', remove partition with a free partition manager and restore saved image with recovery CD of Paragon free.

Remember: it is free, but is build Comodo build, so it has Comodo quality (remember the LOL release notes in the past of other Comodo flagships "we are proud to release XYZ.vv It has a lot of bug fixes and minimal functional improvements" :D )

    Regards Kees

Yep and another good practise is to wait for 2 weeks after final release. Remember the cloud scanner which ruined peoples PC's after initial release it was pulled back and improved eventually. Same happened with Comodo Dragon, they hastely pulled back 4.1 have not seen it reappear since :D

Here is the reply from Comodo:

Personally I hope that CTM will be removed as it is a buggy software that has crashed the MBR of many users.

    Regards
