All I can say is that Emsi Soft would be a better option than Comodo, they've been very quiet lately, hayc59 I think youre right Outpost is begining to look good, especially if Comodo get a hold of it.

Nessy, I can for a fact tell you Comode will never see the code of light
or step on Russian soil to obtain Outpost, I would join the Russian Army
if that was ever in the pot... now go have another drink...[just kidding]

Unless you mean ahold of OA or a2?? than my bad
    that would really suck--also

I was talking about Comodo buying out OA not Outpost, another thing that springs to mind tho is Mike has been very quiet to of late maybe we'll all be lucky and Tall Emu buys Comodo, hey we can only hope.

This is one of the few statements in this thread that has an element of truth to it.

According to gossip OA had a hard time (lot of investment needed for x64), they allready had a joint marketing agreement, so now the German link tells us EmsiSoft is the owner, so it seems that OA products will be taken over by EmsiSoft very soon (just awaiting the due dilligence is my guess).

    Regards Kees

Oh a thread pointing to another thread that was answered by me :p

Anyway I think this would be a surprise if it was a merger, I never saw online armor as failing in the market where Tall emu would want to merge. If it is a merger I due want to know the plan's Emsisoft has, I do hope they keep the Online Armor program.

Now that I think f it a few months ago Tall Emu changed the website for online Armor away from the Tall Emu home page which may have been a sign of the merger?

Hmm you mean that OA is implementing a cloud based AV or integrating a cloud based AV and leaving emsisoft? I do love changes.

    Kees,
Where did you find that link? Also, is this gossip from a reliable source?

For myself, as has been said "wait for it". But it is fun to speculate.:thumb:

These players are NOT the biggies. Now what would be big is say MS deciding to produce it's own PC like Apple.

Or say IF Intel brought out a HW os that was really secure.:D

I saw some words on a certain other firewall vendor website about that. x64 didn't take a lot of investment; As always, it was just a matter of what do we focus on based on the resources we had available to do the task.

The OA team has always been quite small. We got Win7 support done quick, then moved to x64. I run x64 on my laptop. Release should be quite soon, I think.

Mike, glad to hear it. I've watched this thread unfold over the last day or so with increasing trepidation. Fun for some, a depressing prospect for me though.

I've used te product for severall years and its always been top notch in terms of functionality and support and development.

It really would be a sad indictment of the security market if such an excellent product could not find a profit making niche for guys like yourself who put the quality of your products above making a quick buck from tool bars etc.

I take it from your somewhat closed statements something is going down though, just not a full emsisoft takeover?

    Thanks

    Hi Chris,

Yep, something is going down. There's nothing for anyone to worry about, and it will be announced in due course.
