I see the Prevx SafeOnline paid version is available to those who become fans of the SafeOnline Facebook page. Is this the same program as the regular paid SafeOnline?

Also, is there an anticipated SafeOnline compatible with Google Chrome 4+ ?

    thanks

Yes :) We've recently launched an initiative to help protect users of Facebook because of how frequently its users are targeted by malicious threats. You can view more information on this offer from here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Prevx-SafeOnline/254680228961

This offer does not require any credit card to sign up and the version you download will give full SafeOnline protection (not including Prevx 3.0 antimalware).

(And yes, SafeOnline will support Chrome 4+ in one of the upcoming releases :))

I respect the giveaway to the Facebook users, and i don't want to sound like "give it free to all", but i have one question.

What about those who don't use Facebook?
Is it possible to make similar offer to let say Twitter?

Whilst I applaud the initiative, it often irks me when this kind of thing happens. Mainly becuase I paid for Prevx not too long ago and part of that payment was for Safeonline. Now I discover I could have acquired it free? Not so good.

I understand. That's happened to me pretty much every time I have purchased any software- last time being an example - bought Puran Defrag and a week later it goes freeware.

I guess it just goes back to the old saying- "how much is it worth to you today?" when purchasing. When I bought Puran Defrag it was worth the $19 license fee to me.

These things happen and I doubt this promo is forever, some will miss out on it. Others will come along in the same boat you (and I) are in. Bottom line is whether you acquired a good piece of software or not.

Saw the SafeOnline offer on the Prevx facebook page that acr1965 posted, thanks for that to you both.

After several attempts with errors ? i was eventually able to install the Prevx facebook version. It added into my existing Prevx v3.0.1.65 install.

It says SafeOnline is a trial version, is this correct ?

Zemana antilogger gave a keystroke warning, is this due to SafeOnline as i didn't get any before ?

I suspect you'll need to uninstall and reinstall the Facebook version instead of upgrading - could you try just uninstalling your current installation and then installing the download after logging into Facebook and going through to our download page from there?

Let me know if you still have any problems with it!

Well said, acr1965 :thumb: It is always a difficult situation when any product (be it food, cars, computers, or software) goes on sale. There will always be someone who paid the full price just before they could have gotten it for a lower price, but acr1965 is correct in saying that this promo won't be forever. The Facebook user community is frequently targeted by malware threats so we thought we'd extend a helping hand to block some of the newer threats which may be stealing user credentials with our SafeOnline protection.

I think we may end up branching out into other social networking sites as well - our Facebook promotion is going very well and certainly is an easy way to tell everyone about Prevx :)

    @ nikanthpromod and PrevxHelp

Got the direct DL facebook link from links in this thread. Thought it was the actual free offer i managed to aquire without having a facebook account, obviously not. I don't have one, and don't want one.

So that's that i guess, never mind.

Will the newly installed SafeOnline part of Prevx time out and revert to Prevx without SO. If so when ?

I was wondering about that too. Is it a 1 year licence or unlimited? o_O I also noticed that its called "SafeOnline Browser Security" now. One more thing, I added a couple of sites to it and now SafeOnline's icon has changed from a agreen tick to yellow lock. Is that normal? Thanks for any help.

    Hello,
You will need to uninstall your existing copy of Prevx before running the Facebook copy so that it can correctly identify you as a Facebook user.

The license is time-unlimited and the yellow lock icon is normal - that will automatically turn on whenever you visit a secured website, and then return back to a green check when the browser session is closed.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this! :)

    1. How long will the promotion be running for?
    2. I'm a facebook user and I downloaded the copy, will I be able to install this copy on any computer at any time? (eg: friends computers)

    Thanks again for any help.:D
