Update Errors With ESS v4.0.474.0

Hey chaps for some reason it refuses to update itself and keeps saying that it is upto date?

I has a similar problem a while ago while on XP but have now installed Windows7 Ultimate x64 (and yes I am using x64 version of ESS).

Other people I know are having the same problem, could there be something up with the update servers of something?

Have you tried clearing your update cache and files? The following Knowledgebase article may help resolve this.

Hey Richard thanks for your help, I did clean them out but it still didn't work so I decided to sleep on the problem. Anyway booted my system this morning and tried to update it and it finally did after a few attempts so not a clue on what the problem was but it does seem to be fixed (at the moment).
