    Hi,
I have just downloaded the trial version, most impressive! However, the log file displays the following messages, and I am not sure what they mean, or if I should take any action. Can someone please help?

Error occured while scanning MBR sector of the 2. physical disk. Error reading sector.
    C:\pagefile.sys - error opening (file locked) [4]
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager\MSBusinessContactManager.mdf - error opening (file locked) [4]
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data\master.mdf - error opening (file locked) [4]
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data\model.mdf - error opening (file locked) [4]
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data\tempdb.mdf - error opening (file locked) [4]
Notes:[4] File cannot be open. It is being exclusively used by another application or operating system.

    Hi Chreislink,

    Welcome to Wilders!!!

Those messages are nothing to worry about.

Error occured while scanning MBR sector of the 2. physical disk. Error reading sector.
This just means when trying to read the MBR of disk drive # 2, it could not. It refers to a drive that has no disk in it or a disk that has no MBR on it.

    error opening (file locked) [4]
Notes:[4] File cannot be open. It is being exclusively used by another application or operating system.
All of these files in your case are in use by windows so NOD does not have access to them. Sometimes another program will have a file in use so NOD can not scan it also, so you may get this mesage from time to time.

    HTH....

    Regards,
    Kent

NOD32 itself uses the pagefile/swapfile unless you have scads of RAM, so it can never be opened for scanning.
